Halloween videos

6:Marco Tempest

Marco Tempest spins a beautiful story of what magic is, how it entertains us and how it highlights our humanity — all while working extraordinary illusions with his hands and an augmented reality machine.

Social media

In my opinion soial media have improved our lives because we become increasingly more public (sociable?) because as we share information on a variety of networks. Moreover, with social media you make new friends and share your interests, but not all of them are real friends. Some profiles on the internet could be fake.

Any other thoughts on the use of social media?  How will they affect human relationships in the future? Will our social status depend on our public image on social networking websites? We discussed some deeper thoughts on the Black Mirror episode which you xcould have analysed here.

ECPE WRITING: USEFUL INFORMATION

Useful notes for candidates following a webinar on ECPE writing correction offered by the Hellenic American Union:

You can write a rough plan on the last page of your official writing booklet.

One and a half page is required so that the topic is deemed well developed. Otherwise, you lose rhetoric points (content and organisation)

You can leave a blank line between paragraphs or divide paragraphs traditionally. The division must be clearly distinguished.

If the essay is not finished, you lose rhetoric points.

Sample essay commentary:

My opinion: Rhetoric: 2 (that was not a for and against essay), Grammar: 5, Vocabulary: 4 ---> Total points: 11

Examiner's total score: 12
